The Only Way To Escape Your Demons.

I heard a quote recently that hit me deeply: "The only way to escape the demons that chase you in the night is to… TURN AROUND."
In the quiet of our lives, we often find ourselves running from something. It could be fear, guilt, regret, or any number of shadows that follow us. These are the demons of our night, relentless and unyielding. They don’t eat, they don’t sleep, and you, in all your vulnerability, are their eternal goal. Running from these threats is like trying to outrun your own shadow at dusk, it's an exercise in futility. Each step away from them leaves you more broken, more tired, your spirit drained. The more you run, the more they seem to gain, becoming larger, more daunting with each passing moment. But what if, instead of running, we turned around? What if we faced these entities? There's a wisdom in this act, the wisdom of confrontation. When we stop fleeing and start facing, we begin to see these fears for what they truly are. Often, they're not as formidable as our imaginations have painted them. To turn around isn’t to give in, it's to gain control. It's an act of courage, a declaration of self-mastery. By facing our fears, we demystify them. We strip away the power they hold over us in the dark.

Here's what happens when we decide to turn:
-Acknowledgment: We recognize our fears, which is the first step towards disarming them.
-Empowerment: Confrontation brings empowerment. Each demon faced becomes a lesson learned, a strength gained.
-Healing: There's healing in understanding.
When we look closely at what scares us, we often find it's rooted in something we can address or heal. That’s easier said than done when you find yourself surrounded in your darkness surrounded by the darkest night. But with the night comes silence and with its silence, can amplify our fears, making them echo through our minds. But remember, the night also brings out the faintest light, the stars, and the quiet moments for deep reflection. When we turn around, we don't just see our demons, we have the opportunity to see the stars behind them, the light that's always been there, maybe just overshadowed by our constant running. So, the next time you feel the chase, the next time the night whispers your fears, remember this: turn around. Face what you've been running from. You might find that the path to freedom from these demons isn't through endless escape but through a courageous confrontation. In turning around, we don't just escape our demons we transform them into guideposts, each battlefield a looming representation of the strength you’ve held inside, leading us not into the night, but through it, towards a dawn of our own making. That, my friends, is the true path to freedom.
